The clinical efficacy of Enoxacin (AT-2266) was observed in 60 cases of acute and chronic infectious diseases in ear, nose and throat between June 1986 and May 1987. The following results were obtained. 1. Overall efficacy of treafment revealed excellent control in acute infectious diseases (efficacy rate, 96 7%) and fair control in chronic infectious diseases (efficacy rate 58.9%).
2. Enoxacin was more sensitive in Gram (+) bacteria than G (-) bacteria but relatively effective in Gram(-) bacteria, such as P. aeruginosa, P. mirabilis.
3. The side effects were mild gastro-intestinal symptoms in 16.7%, but no serious side reaction was observed.
4. Mean duration of treatment was 5.6 ¡¾ 3.5 days in acute cases and 16 ¡¾ 4.2 days in chronic cases, overall duration was 10.6¡¾4.3 days.
